National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual event run by the Australian Library and Information Association.
Every year a picture book written and illustrated by Australian composers is selected to be read simultaneously in libraries, schools and preschools all a ross Australia.
The aim of National Simultaneous Storytime is to promote the value of reading and literacy; the value and fun of books; the involvement of parents, carers and families in children's learning and the promotion of storytime activities in libraries and schools. It also promotes Australian composers and publishers.
We have participated in National Simultaneous Storytime for several years and usually enjoy an out of uniform day, as well as some special classroom activities.
